Why don't we have ads like these in Sri Lanka? Is it the public, the agencies, or the marketeers?

awesome stuff men. i love the first one - so simple. and the insurance one...gosh what insurance company here would be as honest as that abt Insurance? sigh. i think its the marketeers and the agencies. they both think the public can't handle new things, but i think the public can. :)
i disagree. think of the masses, i doubt the'll get subtle advertising, thus the 'in your face' shit we get everyday :)
I love the insurance work!
Well, the masses is the cited reason, and sometimes people do miss it. But 1. the "Madonna one" for melody tunes was done in the middle east. The others are all from Thailand, Japan, and Europe. Indian ads are great. What happens to Sri Lankan babies that suddenly isolates them from the rest of the human race's intellectual ability?
Part of the problem is the acceptance of our national food, Milk Fried Rice. Milk Fried Rice, is a symbol for he lack of single minded ness, do we talk to kids or to adults, we'll give them something that talks to everyone.
Another thing is how we are always trying to do something like good advertising, while those good at it, are trying to do something that doesn't look like any advertising.
Another problem is execution, milk fried rice suddenly gets laid out on the table when directors and creatives, and clients sit.
Then there is the fact that so little oportunity makes it place where the client is king. And imagine wat would happen if doctors had to only do what patients thought was right. it's i think a fear of responsbility that agencies play safe to clients.
Mouths to feed is of course a huge thing, so no one wants to loose business. I wish we did better work, seriously.
